A Perilous Marriage will be out in late May

(This is Book 1 in the Marriage by Necessity Series.)

I had to push this one to the end of May because I’ve been dealing with house repairs, and that has taken quite a bit of my time and attention. We’re not done with these repairs yet, so I’m not sure when the other books I have planned for this year will be out. But this one is already done and in edits.

Been Doing Serious Rewrites on An Earl In Time

This book has turned into a full-blown fairytale romance. I got stuck last month in this one, so I had to put a stop to writing it. An author friend who excels in writing fantasy and romance to help me figure out what was missing. She had great feedback. I put all other projects on hold to get this back on track, and I think it’s been half a month now that I’ve focused exclusively in on this book. I’m happy to say that I got the problems worked out. There’s still quite a bit more to go. I’m 82,000 words into it. I suspect that it’s going to be about 100,000 words long. That about double what I typically write.

This story has dark moments. It’s not a Disney type of fairy tale. The focus is on the romance, but it contains gothic and fantasy elements. I know this type of set up isn’t for everyone. If you didn’t like my Marriage by Fairytale Series, you should avoid this one. For quick reference, here are the books in the Marriage by Fairytale Series:

If you like books like the ones in the Marriage by Fairytale, you’ll probably enjoy An Earl In Time.

I’m hoping to get Interview for a Wife out in July

This is going to be the third and final book in the Nebraska Prairie Series.

This hit the 30,000-word mark. My original goal was to make this a novella, but it’s turned out longer than expected. I’m not sure how long it’ll be.

For those who like Dave and Mary Larson’s books, especially Eye of the Beholder, this one is similar to it. The heroine obviously has her weakness because she’s never been appreciated until the hero came along, but the hero also has revealed a weakness that surprised me when I was last writing in it. I’m still exploring it, so it’s hard to say exactly what it is at this point. But this is one book where the hero and heroine are both able to heal the other.

I started The Cursed Earl

(This is Book 2 in the Marriage by Necessity Series.)

With An Earl In Time taking longer than expected to finish up, I decided to place this up on my “To Write” list. I’m only in Chapter 1. There is a lot to do. I think this might have humor in it. The heroine is very much in love with the hero. The hero is very much attracted her but is certain he is cursed to die on his 25th birthday. He hates to drag a poor innocent lady into a marriage, but he needs an heir. Our heroine graciously agrees to help him with this. She doesn’t believe the curse is real. She expects to live to a ripe old age with him. The hero, however, is superstitious, and it’ll be fun to see what little things pop up during the course of this story.

I’m hoping to get this out in September.

I still have Suitable for Marriage scheduled for November

I’m still at 10,000 words. I haven’t written in this one for ages. I’ll have to wipe off the cobwebs of my mind to get back into this story. I know I left it off at a fun part, so it shouldn’t be too hard to get into it.
