The Science of Love will be out September 30

I finished the first draft of Love Me, Love Me Not!

This is Book 1 in the Marriage Mart Series.

I had a lot of fun with this one. It was cute and on the shorter side. I was aiming for 20,000 – 25,000 words, but it turned out to be almost 34,000 words. It doesn’t feel like it ran that long. Edits were a breeze. This story just flew by. But yes, it went over the 30,000-word mark.

It’s a sweet book. Meaning, there is no more than a kiss in it. This one depends on the heroine coming to grips with the fact that she’s falling in love with the gentleman who has annoyed her ever since she was 12 or 13. (I think I put 13 in the book.) At any rate, she’s known him for a long time, and the last thing she ever expected was to end up with him. Of course, that’s what made the book so fun to write. 🙂

I already sent it off for edits, but I won’t get back to it until November 1 at the soonest.

I will be working at a pumpkin patch from September 4 – October 31. I will not do any writing or editing in that time.

Because of this, I won’t have much to report. I will post a newsletter next month since The Science of Love will be live by then, but I think I’ll keep that newsletter short so as not to waste your time.

I have started All’s Fair in Love & Scandal

This is Book 2 in the Marriage Mart Series.

I expect this one to be another cute and shorter romance. My aim is the 20,000 to 25,000-word mark, but I won’t get upset if it goes longer. I am enjoying this world of “the Marriage Mart Series” and the characters in it. The series will all be on the “just kissing” side of things.

I am in chapter 2 and will be introducing the hero there. The heroine is the shy type who rarely speaks up with her talkative twin sister around. (The twin sister is in Love Me, Love Me Not.) Despite being shy, she has accumulated a good number of suitors who are all interested in her. Hence, her dilemma. Who–oh who?–will she pick? As it turns out, the hero isn’t in her line of suitors. I still have to work out the detail on how these two will get together.

I am about 16,000 words in The Old Maid

This is Book 3 in the Oregon Series.

I am still trying to figure out how to get these two together, even though they have already been introduced and are attracted to each other. This is going to be a bit challenging to write. The parents of the heroine still see her as a child even though she’s in her 40s. So I know there will be some tension there. I’ll probably have to take this one slow when I get back to writing in November. Some books are easier to write than others. This isn’t one of them.

I am 8,000 words into Never Say “I Do”

I still do not have a cover. I plan to work on that after I am done with the pumpkin patch job.

This is Book 3 in the Marriage by Chemistry Series.

All I know so far is that hero of the book figured out he’s meant to be the subject of the love potion experiment, and he and the heroine agree that they will only pretend to drink it. The two do not want to get married, but they agree to act as if they are drinking the love potion in order to satisfy their interests. The hero really wants to get into White’s, and one of the gentlemen (Logan, aka Lord Toplyn) investing in the experiment is a member of White’s. So, he is using the love potion as an excuse to get in Logan’s good graces. The heroine, meanwhile, wants to be friends with the gentlemen who are running the love potion experiment.

I think this will be a fun romance.
