Perfectly Matched is still in edits

This is Book 2 in the Husbands for the Larson Sisters Series.

Here is what I have so far:

I plan to make a Book 4 for Daisy (the youngest Larson sister), but I have no plot or title for it yet.

I plan to have Perfectly Matched out March 27. Next month, I hope to have the links ready if you want to pre-order it.

A Perilous Marriage is over halfway done

This is going to be Book 1 in the Marriage by Necessity Series:

I really like the direction this book has taken. It starts off with the hero convinced the heroine murdered his best friend, but now a twist popped up that I didn’t expect. (I’d say what the twist was, but that would spoil things.)

Instead of doing the whole “hero makes the heroine fall in love with him to get back at his enemy” plot, I decided to do a story where the hero makes the heroine fall in love with him in order to spend enough time with her to convict her of murder. I’ve never done anything like this, and it’s been fun to experiment with an unfamiliar plot.

Right now I’m close to 50,000 words. I think I could be done with the first draft by the end of this month or early next. Then I’ll look at setting a release date. My hope is to have this out in May. *fingers crossed*

An Earl In Time is over halfway done

I should hit 50,000 words in this tomorrow, but I have more to go. This one definitely has the fairy tale feel to it. I’m finally beginning to figure out HOW the hero and heroine got stuck by magic in the same place, but I still need to figure out WHY the curse was placed to begin with. I know who put cursed them. I don’t know when this villain will come into play. I suspect this book will be about 80,000 words or so when all is said and done. I’m hoping to get this out in July.

Interview for a Wife is probably nearing the halfway point

This one has been a struggle to write, and I suspect it’s the serious nature of the story. The hero is in a wheelchair. The heroine is unable to have children. They both have their insecurities, but they keep those well-hidden to the outside world. It was easier to get into the heroine’s head faster just because her first marriage was terrible because her first husband resented her for not giving him any children. But the hero had a positive first marriage, and while he has gotten over the loss of his first wife, his bout of insecurity didn’t even develop until after her death. So the initial setup made it harder to dive into who the hero was. That slowed the story’s progress down quite a bit. Maybe now that I finally found out his secret insecurity, things will go along faster now.

I’m currently at 22,000 words. My initial plan was to make this 30,000 words, but it’s going to be longer than that. I have bumped the word count goal to 40,000 words. We’ll see how things play out.

I am going into Chapter Three for Suitable for Marriage

If you read Nobody’s Fool, you’ll remember that the hero had NO idea the heroine was trying to dissuade him from falling in love with her.

I had been tempted to have the hero know what the heroine was doing and have him play along, thereby giving her time to be with him and realize he was perfect for her after all. But I opted to have the hero in Nobody’s Fool to remain oblivious to everything she was doing.

However, in Suitable for Marriage, I’m going to be able to use the idea I didn’t use in Nobody’s Fool. In Suitable for Marriage, the hero knows the heroine isn’t all that interested in him, but he’s been in love with her since they were children. So in order to get closer to her in hopes she’ll come to fall in love with him, he’s going to play along with her as she struggles to match him up with some other young woman.

I haven’t gotten far in this one yet, but I’m thinking this will be a cute romantic comedy.
