The Perfect Duke’s second draft is done!

The Perfect Duke Ebook Cover

This is Book 4 in the Marriage by Fate Series.

  • Book 1: The Reclusive Earl
  • Book 2: Married In Haste
  • Book 3: Make Believe Bride
  • Book 4: The Perfect Duke
  • Book 5: Kidnapping the Viscount

I love this particular heroine. She was strong and smart. She knew when to speak up and when to hold her tongue. She also had a soft side to her. But she was the one who stepped in and rescued the hero. I haven’t done a situation like that in a long time, so it was fun to see the hero needing to be saved for a change.

This is currently with my editing team. I don’t have a release date yet. By next month, I should have a date.

The Perfect Wife is nearing the end.

Books in the Misled Mail Order Brides Series:

  • Book 1: The Bride Price
  • Book 2: The Rejected Groom
  • Book 3: The Perfect Wife
  • Book 4: The Imperfect Husband

I hope to have this one done and off to my editing team by July 1. *fingers crossed* I ran into a rough patch last month and had to stop writing in it while I tried to figure out the best way to proceed. I had to push back the release month from July to August. I’m almost at 50,000 words. I expect this to run about 60,000 to 65,000 words total.

Anyway, I could have rushed through this to end it and get it out in July OR I could have paused and let the ending come to me and get this out in August instead. I chose to delay the release month in order to have this book be the best it can be. I want to honor you by giving you my best work. I try to set pre-order dates out so far that I won’t have to push them back, and once in a while, a book like this pops up and I end up having to do it. Thankfully, it doesn’t happen often.

I’m about 1/4 of the way into One Enchanted Evening

Books in the Marriage by Fairytale Series

  • Book 1: The Marriage Contract
  • Book 2: One Enchanted Evening
  • Book 3: The Wedding Pact
  • more to come

I really like this one. Well, I like all of my books, but this one is a lot of fun because it blends in the suspense and thriller elements I love. It has a gothic feel to it like The Marriage Contract did. The heroine has a blemished past, and it’s going to come back to haunt her once she comes out of hiding. This one is loosely (and I mean loosely) based off of the Cinderella fairytale. In this case, the heroine is strong. She’s going to end up saving the hero in an actual life or death situation. (This is one of the books where I know the ending ahead of time. Most of the time, I have no idea how things will turn out until I’m writing it.) I’m really looking forward to the ending. That will be fun to write.

I just started Kidnapping the Viscount

As of this morning, I have started this one. This will feature another strong heroine, however, I think the hero is going to pull a couple of surprises on me. It seemed as if he was going to resent being forced into a marriage with her, but I have a nagging suspicion he’s a cad at heart and will play along with most of her ploys in order to give her the sense of control. I’m not sure yet, but I suspect this might be a comedy. It’d be nice to write a comedy again. I haven’t done one in a while.

I’ll end things here. It was a busy May, and June is still a bit hectic. I’m still trying to get into a routine during the summer months now that the kids are out. I want to make sure I get to spend plenty of time with them since my oldest is now a sophomore in high school and my youngest is a 7th grader. I have two others (a freshman and 8th grader) between those two. So I need to take advantage of the time I have left before they go out on their own.

I hope everyone has a great June!
