Boaz’s Wager is Now Available!

Boaz’s Wager is now up on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords.  I don’t know how long it’ll take to get up on Kobo, Apple iBooks, and other bookstore sites.  Sometimes the book goes up quicker than at other times.

The Earl’s Scandalous Wife is Now Available!

the earl's scandalous wife

I’m guessing most of you reading this already know Lord Clement (Perry)’s romance is finally out.  I just checked Apple iBooks and Kobo, and it’s not up there yet.  I’m not sure when it’ll be up on those sites or the other sites I’ve set Smashwords up to distribute to, but my guess is a month to three months.

In the meantime, it is on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Smashwords.

Boaz’s Wager is almost finished

boaz's wager ebook cover

I am hoping to have this one out in mid-to-late March.  This is Book 2 in the Montana Historical Romance Collection.  This book features Eva Connealy (who had hoped to marry Isaac Larson in Isaac’s Decision).  I am giving her a second chance with Boaz Grady. 😀  But she’s in for a rude awakening when she learns that he plans to keep their marriage in name only because he doesn’t want to lose another wife to childbirth.  I’m currently working on the rewrite (the first version wasn’t going well).  I expect to have the first draft done in a couple weeks and then it’s off to the editing team.

The Mail Order Bride’s Deception

the mail order bride's deception ebook cover

This idea came to me recently, and I started writing it.  To my surprise, it’s practically writing itself.

Here’s the description:

It wasn’t Sadie Miller’s first choice to go all the way to the Black Hills of South Dakota Territory to be a mail order bride, but it was her only chance of escaping the prison that had become her life.  Taking on the identity of a recently deceased woman by the name of Hazel, she goes west to meet Allen (Al) Grover, the father of a six-month-old son.

For a while, it seems that Sadie’s life is perfect.  Al is everything she ever hoped for.  Kind, patient, and gentle.  And better yet, for the first time in her life, someone loves her.  But her happy ending is quickly shaken when Hazel’s cousin comes for a visit, and Sadie soon realizes her newfound love is as fragile as the lie it was built upon.

I don’t have an official expected release month on this one, but I think April or May are both strong possibilities.

I Just Started Patty’s Gamble

Patty's Gamble ebook cover

This one actually goes way back to 2009 or 2010 (I don’t remember exactly), but the original was a short story titled “The Keeping of Greg Wilson”.  I’ve decided to completely redo it into a full-length novel.  In order to set the stage, I wrote Mitch’s Win and Boaz’s Wager will lead into it.  I had to set the stage to properly put this story into it’s rightful place.

I’m planning to have this one right before mid-June.

I’m About 1/4 of the Way into The Earl’s Secret Bargain

the earl's secret bargain ebook cover

This book officially begins the Marriage by Arrangement Series in the Regencies I’m working on.  I am currently developing secondary characters who will be featured in later books in the series.  It’s too early to tell when this one will be done, and I have other books that are taking more of a priority, but I am working on this as time permits.  At the moment, my attention is focused on Boaz’s Wager, so I don’t get to this nearly as much as I’d like.  I really need more hours in the day. 😀

I hope everyone has a great February!

January 2014 Newsletter

I was gone on vacation over the Christmas season and have spent this past week getting caught up on emails and updating things on my other blog.  I’ve had some things on my end to get in place before I had the time to sit down and make this blog post.  I apologize for taking so long to get them done.  All I can say is that it’s good to be back in a routine after the kids returned to school.  🙂

Bride by Arrangement is now available!

Bride by Arrangement ebook cover

Some of you already know this since you follow my other blog or are connected to my news’ updates through Twitter and/or Facebook.  🙂  But for those of you who prefer to get updates on this blog, I wanted to mention it here (even though it’s been out for a couple weeks already).

If you haven’t gotten a copy yet and would like to, here are the links where it’s currently available at:

Amazon

B&N

Smashwords

I have signed Mitch’s Win over to a publisher, Parchment & Plume.

mitch's win second edition ebook cover

I did this because I’m going to publish the rest of the Montana Historical Romance series with this publisher.  (The complete series includes Mitch’s Win, Boaz’s Wager, and Patty’s Gamble.) If you already read Mitch’s Win, there’s no need to read it buy it.  The story hasn’t changed at all.

If you haven’t read it, here are the links where you can find it on Amazon and Smashwords (it should be up soon on B&N):

Amazon

Smashwords

*Please note that it takes anywhere from a couple weeks to a couple months for it to get on other sites such as iBooks, Kobo, Sony, etc.  Unfortunately, neither I nor the publisher have any control over this aspect of the process.

Boaz’s Wager (Book 2) is scheduled for release in March.

boaz's wager ebook cover

I am almost done with the first draft.  After that, I will go through the editing process before I hand it over to my publisher who will then run it through the edits a final time then publish it.

Patty’s Gamble (Book 3) should be available some time between June-August of this year.

Patty's Gamble ebook cover

I haven’t started this book yet, but it should be out some time in the middle of the year.  Until I finish the first draft, I can’t give a closer date to when it’ll be out.

The Earl’s Scandalous Wife should be out by the end of this month.

the earl's scandalous wife

I’m still waiting on one of my editors to get back to me, but for the most part, it’s done and ready.  This is the book where Perry finally gets a wife.  But in order to get her, his wayward cousin Christopher (hero in His Reluctant Lady) will have to help create a scandal.  Only Christopher would do something like that.   🙂

I’ve got a few more stories I’m working on, but I’ll mention them later when they get closer to being published.  I’m trying not to make so many long posts this year. 🙂

First off, my apologies for not writing the November 2013 Newsletter.  I thought I did and checked this blog around mid-November to find out I hadn’t.  Since there was nothing new or interesting to report, I decided to skip it, but I am sorry I didn’t put it up.

I’m happy to say Perry Ambrose (aka Lord Clement)’s book is almost done.  I expect to have it published next month after I go through the editing process with my team of editors, beta readers, and proofreaders.

Other Current Works in Progress

boaz's wager ebook cover

I’m well over halfway through in Boaz’s Wager.  This is the second book in the Montana Historical Romance Series.  For those of you who read Mitch’s Win, this is his brother’s romance.  I hope to have the first draft completed in January for an estimated March release.

marriage can kill ebook cover 3

I’ve decided to branch out into the romantic suspense genre.  This is my first romantic suspense book.  I started this back in 2009 but didn’t know how to continue with it until recently.  Now that I know, I can proceed with it.

I’m also working on The Earl’s Secret Bargain, Wagon Trail Bride, and His Convenient Wife as time permits.  The books listed above are my top priority at the moment.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and will have a very Merry Christmas!

Coming Soon

The Stagecoach Bride ebook cover

This is currently in the editing stages.  Stephannie Beman and I are looking at publishing this some time in December.

Bride by Arrangement ebook cover

I am almost done with my novella in this anthology.  I’m not sure where Janet Syas Nitsick is at in her novella, but we both expect to have the finished anthology to our publisher by December 1.  This book is due out around January 1.

Other Works in Progress

I am working on other books.  Two are historical westerns that feature the Larson family.    Two are Regenies.  One is a historical western that is part of the Montana Romance Collection.

His Convenient Wife (Cover Coming Soon)

After finishing Catching Kent, I couldn’t shake the urge to write Harriett Larson’s romance.  So I figured I might as well start it.

Here’s the description I came up with today:

Harriett Larson’s been in love with Stan Craftsman for years, but with her twin around, he barely noticed her.  When he adopts the two-year old daughter of a friend, he comes calling with a proposal.  Refusing to be the woman he settles for, she turns him away, even if she feels weak in the knees whenever he’s around.

Her determination to not be his second choice crumbles when she spies the care and concern he’s given for the little girl in his life.  She agrees to a marry him, insisting that there be no pretenses between them.  Since he doesn’t love her, there will be no need to consummate the marriage.

But as the days go by, Stan starts to see her in a new light.  The timid wallflower he’s known his whole life has turned into a fiery beauty who intrigues him.  Can he figure out  a way to show her he wants her to be more than his convenient wife or has his past actions ruined what could be the best thing that ever happened to them?

Wagon Trail Bride

wagon trail bride ebook cover

This is Richard Larson’s romance.  I don’t often bring Richard up in the Nebraska Romance Collection, but he is Dave Larson’s oldest brother.  So this is officially book 1 in the series.  I wasn’t ready to write it before because I hesitated to go in the direction the characters were seeming to lead me.  But I’m going to have to go with their leading and see what happens.

Boaz’s Wager

boaz's wager ebook cover

This is book 2 in the Montana Romance Collection.  Mitch’s Win was the first book, and Boaz was Mitch’s brother.  Eva Connealy does come from the Nebraska series.  She was originally in Isaac’s Decision.

I enjoy taking secondary characters in one series and putting them in another series.  The more series and characters I write, the better I’m able to do this.  I am also putting Rachel Larson (one of Dave and Mary Larson’s daughters) in this book.  I’m about 1/4 of the way into this book and am not sure exactly which direction the characters are taking me.  With some books, I know where I’m going and with others, I don’t.  But it’s always fun to find out how things will play out.  🙂

The Earl’s Scandalous Wife

the earl's scandalous wife

It seems that more people want to read about Perry (Lord Clement from The Earl’s Inconvenient Wife and His Reluctant Lady) more than any other character I’ve written (except for Dave Larson who is the most popular).   As the title suggests, the heroine has a scandalous side to her, and there is a less-than-perfect past she’ll be coming into the marriage with.

The Earl’s Secret Bargain

the earl's secret bargain ebook cover

Another book that has been bugging me to write is The Earl’s Secret Bargain, and it is based off the scandal Agatha reported in the Tittletattle in His Reluctant Lady.  I’m going to go into more detail about the wager between Lords Davenport and Pennella for the hand of Miss Giles.  Then I’ll go into what happens after the wager is exposed and Miss Giles finds out what’s been going on.

That’s all I have for now.  I hope everyone is having a great October!

I’m getting ready to publish Kent Ashton’s Backstory and Catching Kent.  The expected publishing date is around October 7.  When those are up, I’ll post October’s Newsletter.  😀

Kent Ashton’s Backstory is Complete

But I am waiting until I am done with Catching Kent before I publish it.  Kent Ashton’s Backstory can be read as a standalone, but it is not a romance.  Kent Ashton’s Backstory is his viewpoint of the events as they happened in Falling In Love With Her Husband.

Falling In Love With Her Husband is where he loses the girl, and his backstory goes more into what was going on from his end while he lost her.  It answers questions like, “Why did Kent end his courtship with Ann?  Why did he end his courtship with Rebecca?  What was he thinking when he went to get Ann after she moved to North Dakota?”  Falling In Love With Her Husband only gives Ann’s side of events.  Kent Ashton’s Backstory gives his.

Works in Progress

I have four works in progress going on at the moment.

Catching Kent is Almost Complete

catching kent ebook

I figure I’ll finish the first draft this month.  I’m hoping to have this book and Kent Ashton’s Backstory out some time in October.  This is a romance novel, and it gives Kent Ashton a second chance at love.  It can be read as a standalone.  You don’t have to read Kent Ashton’s Backstory in order to read this book.  If you choose to read both books, then Kent Ashton’s Backstory is the prequel to this one.

Boaz’s Wager

boaz's wager ebook cover

This is Book 2 in the Montana Romance Collection.  At the moment, I am only 1/4 of the way into the book, but I’m very happy with the way things are going.  For those of you who read A Husband for Margaret and Isaac’s Decision, the heroine in this book is Eva Connealy (the daughter of Joseph and Margaret) who had a crush on Isaac Larson but didn’t get him.  In this book, she gets her husband but only because she was kidnapped and sold to the bidder at the auction.

The Earl’s Scandalous Wife

the earl's scandalous wife

I’m still in the first 1/4 of this book.  It’s been a little hard to set up the circumstances where Perry gets caught in a scandal and has to make a mad dash to Gretna Green.  I got those kinks worked out, so now all I have to do is keep writing.  The story is more sweet than funny, but I did bring in Christopher Robinson (hero in His Reluctant Lady) to help add some humor.  I really enjoy the Christopher moments.  He was one of my favorite heroes to write because he made me laugh more often than not.  Perry has a good sense of humor, too, but his brand of humor is different from Christopher’s.  Not sure how to explain how expect to say that Christopher has a mischievous side to him.  Sometimes mischievous is fun, and it was what Perry needed in order to get a bride (at last).

Bride by Arrangement

Bride by Arrangement ebook cover

The novella I’m working on for this anthology is called “The Purchased Bride”, and it is going along well.  It took me a while to decide on a title for my story.  😀  I’m halfway through it.  Janet Syas Nitsick is working on the other story in this anthology, and her novella is called “She Came By Train”.  It looks like this will be available either late December or early January.

Back to The Stagecoach Bride…Soon

The Stagecoach Bride ebook cover

It looks like I’ll be going into the final editing stages on this book soon.  At the moment, it’s with one of Stephannie Beman’s beta readers.  My strength is more in the proofing.  Stephannie’s is doing the edits up to that point–the ones that help smooth and flesh out a story.  When I get it, I’ll go through the initial round of proofing and then send it off to my team of editors/proofreaders before I go through it again.  I’m not sure if there will be any more steps in getting this ready for publication, but Stephannie and I are hoping to release this some time in December.

I hope everyone is having a great September!
