December 2021 Newsletter

I didn’t have much to report on November 1, so I figured I’d wait until this month to do a post. Fortunately, I got some actual news this time. 😀

A quick note to Kobo readers:

I have moved all of my romances into Kobo Plus. If you pre-ordered The Cursed Earl, The Loner’s Bride, Suitable for Marriage, or Heiress of Misfortune on Kobo, that pre-order has been cancelled out. In order to be in Kobo Plus, I have to publish a book directly on Kobo. I was using Smashwords to publish my books to Kobo. These pre-orders will go back up, but I need to have the final version of the book ready to go before putting it on Kobo. So from now on, I won’t put pre-orders on Kobo until we are close to the release dates of the books.

For more information, you can go to the lengthy post I did on the topic.

The Cursed Earl is in the final stage of edits!

Books in the Marriage by Necessity Series:

The release date is set for January 9. I don’t have it up on Amazon, Kobo, or Google Play yet. I still need to finalize the edits and format it so it’s ready. I suspect this book will be ready for me to put up on Amazon, Kobo, and Google Play next week.

I just finished the first draft of Suitable for Marriage!

Books in the Husbands for the Larson Sisters Series:

I just wrapped this up today. This one is due out in May, so I have plenty of time to work on edits. I did add an epilogue that I hope you’ll enjoy. I bring Mary Larson in and bring in a few things here and there that happened in Eye of the Beholder that I think people who read that book will enjoy. The perk of working within the Larson family is being able to reference things that happened in earlier Larson stories. 😉

Unfortunately, I don’t know what to do for Daisy’s story, which is Book 4, so I’ll be working on only Regencies when I finish The Loner’s Bride.

I am getting close to the end of The Loner’s Bride

Books in the Wyoming Series:

I should be able to finish this book this month. I’m just trying to figure out how Abby and Thayne will find out the news. It won’t upset them, but Jeremiah and Katie are afraid it will. So far I’ve moved a couple of scenes around and revised a couple. I’m already at 64,000 words. It’s looking like this one will be about 70,000 when all is said and done. The expected release date on this is March 13.

I’m in Chapter 3 of Heiress of Misfortune

This book will wrap up the Marriage by Necessity Series. The hero has been officially hired to see who, if anyone, is trying to harm the heroine. The heroine is a mousy type character who will benefit from a make over, which I’m looking forward to writing when the time comes. I never did a “ugly duckling turning into a swan” romance before, so this will be a lot of fun!

I’ve started Secret Admirer

Books in the Marriage by Obligation Series:

Secret Admirer ebook cover Midnight Wedding ebook cover jpg TheDukesReturnWEB

At the moment, I’m in the opening scene and setting the stage for the cast of characters who will be dominant in this series. The beginning of a new series is pretty much when I learn the characters’ personalities, so it’s like opening a present to see who I get to work with for the next year.

I’ll start Midnight Wedding later this month

I want to get the edits done for Suitable for Marriage and The Loner’s Bride before diving into this one. If I suddenly come up with an idea for Daisy Larson’s book, I’ll put this on hold, but for now, this is the next scheduled book on my to-write list.

A note about the audiobooks:

I lost confidence in putting Meant To Be so didn’t upload it to You Tube, Rumble, and Bitchute like I originally planned. I was comparing my ability to narrate to the professionals. I am not at all professional in audio. I have fun with it, but it’s apparent I don’t measure up to what people expect. I’m currently on the fence about just doing it anyway. We’ll see how things progress.

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
