I’m happy to say this book will be released earlier than I expected!  I’ll make a post over here when it is released with the description and links to buy it.  In the meantime, you can click on the cover, and it’ll take you to the book launch page which has the links on where you can pre-order it.

The Earl’s Wallflower Bride is over halfway done!

This puts me on track for releasing this book in July.  At the moment, it’s not available for pre-order on Barnes & Noble or Amazon because I haven’t set the exact date yet.  I have to see when I finish the first draft before I can set a specific date.  Hopefully, next month, I’ll be able to tell you when that is.  But for now, I know it’ll be in July, and you can find it on iBooks, Kobo, and Smashwords.

I’m about halfway into The Marriage Agreement!

This is book 2 in the Pioneer Series.  Book 1 is Wagon Trail Bride.

This is set for August 7.  This has been one of those hard books to write.  I don’t know why, either.  I enjoy the characters and plot, but it seems that it’s hard to figure out what comes next.  I know, I know.  The plotters out there are screaming that I should be plotting this book.  But honestly, if I did that, the characters would change everything on me anyway so there’s no point in doing it.

I am now working on The Accidental Mail Order Bride!

This is book 3 in the Chance at Love Series.  Book 1 is The Convenient Mail Order Bride, and book 2 is The Mistaken Mail Order Bride (which is the one mentioned above).

This book is due out September 4.  In this book I will show a different view of Carl (who was the villain in The Convenient Mail Order Bride).  If you’ll remember, Abe and Carl were half-brothers fighting over the same piece of land.  Well, in this book I touch more on that, although I won’t do Carl’s book until The Bargain Mail Order Bride.

Since I mentioned The Bargain Mail Order Bride, I’ll reveal the cover here, and, if you’re inclined you can pre-order it at Kobo and iBooks.  You can add it to your library at Smashwords.

It’s due out January 7, which I know sounds like it’s a long way from now, but honestly, I can’t believe it’s already May!  (The older I get, the more I sound like my mom.  She used to say time went too fast. LOL)

Hope everyone has a great May!

Her Devilish Marquess is Available!

Since it’s the middle of the month, I figured I’d announce this before May 1.  This is Book 2 in the Marriage by Arrangement Series.

20151005_Her_Devilish_Marquess_ebook

Here’s the description:

Dr. Derek Westward has been happy living his life doing everything possible to upset the Ton. Second to his occupation, it’s one of his favorite pastimes. Then his brother dies, and the worst thing imaginable happens. He inherits the title of a marquess. Now he has to secure the future of his family’s estate with an heir, and worse, he’s expected to be on his best behavior, something he’s been unable to do since childhood.

Miss Danette Everson has given up on ever marrying. At twenty-five, she’s resigned herself to spinsterhood, until her friend decides she’d be better off married. Before she knows it, she’s a bride. But her new husband isn’t the reputable gentleman she was hoping for. No, he’s got a horrible tendency to scandalize the Ton at every opportunity that presents itself. Surely, a pair couldn’t be more mismatched. Whatever were the three matchmaking ladies thinking when they arranged for her to marry the most devilish marquess in all of London?

Here’s where you can buy it if you interested:

Amazon

iBooks

Kobo

Barnes & Noble

Smashwords

Cover Reveal for the next book in the series:

Also, I love it when authors share their new covers on an upcoming book, so I thought I’d throw in a cover reveal for Book 3 in the Marriage by Agreement Series.  It features Lord Steinbeck, who was pretty much the villain in Her Devilish Marquess.  The heroine (Lady Iris, introduced in His Wicked Lady) is going to have her work cut out for her in this book!

20160322_His_Wallflower_Bride_ebook2

You can click on the cover below to pre-order it if you wish.  At the moment, it’s only on iBooks and Kobo, but I will have it on Amazon and Barnes & Noble for pre-order in about a month and a half to two months.  Here’s the link.

The link also includes what Lord Steinbeck and Lady Iris think of their arranged marriage, and I got to say Lady Iris isn’t happy at all.  (And I have to say after what Lord Steinbeck said, I hope she really lets him have it in this book!  He needs it.)

Bonus Material from the Nebraska Series is out!

And it’s only $0.99!

I decided not to mention this when it became available early last month because I had just done a post over here.  I figured I’d wait until this month to announce it.  For those of you who love the Larsons from the Nebraska Series, this book features a series of posts I did with the characters.  It covers some behind the scenes look at their discontent as I wrote books like Shotgun Groom, Isaac’s Decision, To Have and To Hold, and Her Heart’s Desire. It also features Dave Larson’s antics, like when he called for a boycott on my books and when he was kidnapped.

It also includes the heroes competing for votes for things like the best poet.  Here’s a link to that specific post if you want an idea of what you’ll find in the book.  I decided on sharing this one because I love the poem Joel makes up in order to make fun of Dave. 🙂

Here’s the Book Launch page that gives the links to where you can buy this book AND includes what Dave, Joel, and Tom Larson this of this book!

Her Devilish Marquess will be out April 17!

I now have this up on pre-order at Amazon, iBooks, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo.  I included the links on the Book Launch page if you’d like to check out some fun tidbits the characters from my Regencies had to say about it.

The hero turned out to be a sweetheart.  He can’t stand hypocrisy, so when he comes across it, he has a tendency to let people have what’s coming to them.  This, in turn, upsets prominent members of the Ton who blackball him.  So he is the most unpopular gentleman in London.

The heroine is a wallflower type who is scared to death of scandals.

You got to pair up opposites sometimes in order to make books interesting. 🙂

I should finish the first draft of The Mistaken Mail Order Bride this week!

This puts me right on schedule to releasing it out on June 5, which is the original projected release date.  For those of you who read The Convenient Mail Order Bride, this is Sheriff Eric Johnson’s story.

The Earl’s Wallflower Bride is under way

I don’t have a cover yet but will soon

I do have a pre-order link (includes some fun bickering between the hero and heroine)

Since I am ahead of schedule with my writing goals, I was able to get started on this earlier than expected.  I’m already in chapter 7 and am planning to have this out sometime this summer.  I’m not exactly sure when, but I’ll keep you posted in these posts.

This book involves Lord Steinbeck (Mr. Jasper’s friend in His Wicked Lady) and Lady Iris (whom Lady Cantrell warned to stay as far from Lord Steinbeck as possible).  Needless to say Lord Steinbeck and Lady Iris are paired up for marriage.  It’s fun stuff!

This is coming along, and I should have it out on August 7, which is the projected pre-order date.  More information about the book is also on the book launch page, which you can find by clicking the cover.  I thought I’d wait until I get closer to the release date to give more details about this book.

I hope everyone will have a great April!

I figure I have three more scenes to write, and then I’ll be done.  The original release date was posted for May 8, but I’ll try to bump it up to mid-to-late April.  That way I can announce it’s release when I post the May Newsletter.

In the meantime, it’s available for pre-order on all the sites except for Amazon.  I like to wait until the entire thing is done before putting it on Amazon for pre-order.  So I’m thinking I can have this on pre-order at Amazon in either early or mid-April.

I don’t want to give away the ending, but it has turned out completely different from what I expected.  Actually, the entire book is nothing like I had planned.  From the moment the two met, they took over and all of my ideas got shoved into the trash.  Which is good, of course.  Nothing is worse than a story where the characters aren’t vibrant and alive.

I have continued with a sub-plot I established in the first book in this series (His Wicked Lady) with the thing happening at White’s.  This, as it’s turning out, will play an even bigger part in the next book in the series (The Earl’s Wallflower Bride).

But, best of all, Lord Toplyn (from Ruined by the Earl), Lord Edon (from A Most Unsuitable Earl), and Mr. Christopher Robinson (from His Reluctant Lady) from my past Regency series come into play.  It’s always fun to visit old characters and see how things are going in their happily ever afters.

I can’t stop crying while writing this one

The Mistaken Mail Order Bride (Chance at Love Series: Book 2)

The Mistaken Mail Order Bride

Okay, I know that sounds bad, but really, it’s not.  The heroine and the  seven-year-old child have such sad pasts that I keep tearing up whenever I write her point of view.  She came right out of the Civil War, and the boy was an orphan she happened to find left on the streets.  So this is a really emotional book to write.

But this is a romance above all else, so don’t think it’s a total downer.  It’s not.  In some ways, most of my crying stems from the fact that I know the heroine and the boy are much better off where they are.  Eric Johnson (the sheriff in The Convenient Mail Order Bride) is the hero in this one.

What I do know is that Abe Thomas (hero in The Convenient Mail Order Bride) is going to play a key role in helping the boy heal from his past wounds because both of these characters were born to unwed mothers who saw abuse and both feel like outcasts.  So there’s a lot they’ll have in common.  I haven’t introduced them yet, but I’m looking forward to it.

The release date is currently set for June 5.  I’m at 20,000 words right now in the book (over 1/4 of the way into it).  So I’m not sure if it’ll be out earlier than this date or not, but it will be out no later than June 5.

The plot is slowly evolving in this one

The Marriage Agreement (Pioneer Series: Book 2)

The Marriage Agreement ebook cover

I thought the main source of conflict would be Jesse Palmer’s mother-in-law.  If you’ll remember from Wagon Trail Bride (book 1 of this series), Jesse lost his wife in childbirth, and his mother-in-law was making life miserable for him.  Laura Rufus (Amanda Larson’s friend) volunteered to help with the baby, Elliot.

In this book, Laura is the one who suggests a marriage of convenience to Jesse.  She does this mostly because she loves Elliot and wants to be a mother to him, but she also does it because her parents keep bringing over men twice her age in hopes she marry them.  Needless to say, she has no desire to be with any of them because they all remind her of her father.  (I know, gross, right?)

They’ve agreed to marry for convenience, and her parents are fighting it.  She just ran off to stay with the Larsons (Richard’s parents), so we’ll get to peek in on the Larson family and see how things are going shortly after they settled in Omaha.  It’s fun going back and filling in some of the moments from their past I’ve only talked about in the Nebraska Series. It really makes the characters so much more real when you get to see them outside their main series.

This is still set for August 7 for a release, and I think I’ll keep it there since this book will go with my awesome publisher, Parchment & Plume.

Well, that’s it for this month.  I hope everything goes great for everyone!

The Convenient Mail Order Bride is Now Available!

In case you’re interested, The Convenient Mail Order Bride is finally up!  (It was up on Saturday, but I was away from home and couldn’t get to this post until today.) 😀

The Convenient Mail Order Bride3

But without further ado, here is the description and the links:

When Phoebe Durbin answers a mail-order bride ad, she doesn’t realize the groom-to-be didn’t post it. Worse, the day she arrives at her destination, she learns he doesn’t even want to get married. Having nowhere else to go, she convinces him to give her a chance to prove having a woman cook and clean for him will be the best thing that ever happened to him.

Abe Thomas reluctantly agrees to take Phoebe in, though he doubts they will make a good match. They’re much too different. While she sees the best in things, he knows the world is much darker than she can ever imagine. No woman in her right mind would be his convenient wife. He’s sure when the stagecoach comes back to town, she’ll be the first one on it. After all, two people so completely different can’t make a good match, can they?

February 2016 Newsletter

I’m sorry it took so long to get this one.  I started it at the end of January and (in the middle of getting all my tax papers together for my accountant) forgot I never finished it.  So I’m doing it today and getting this out. 😀

The Convenient Mail Order Bride will be out February 13!

(This is Book 1 in the Chance at Love Series)

The Convenient Mail Order Bride3

I was able to bump it up a week.  Originally, it was supposed to be out on the 21st, but since my editing team got done earlier than expected, it’ll be out sooner.  I did put it up for pre-order on Amazon.  It’s already been on iBooks, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords for a while not, but I just added it to Amazon.

You can click here if you want to pre-order it.

Since this is coming out in the middle of the month, I’ll also make a post when it’s available.  At that time, I’ll give the description. 🙂

*I do plan to put other books up on Amazon for pre-order once they are all finished through the editing process.  It’s easier to upload the final version of the book when I do a pre-order over there.

I’ll have Bonus Materials from the Nebraska Series out early, too!

bonus book3

These are a series of blog posts I did on my author blog back in 2011-2012.   It consisted of character interviews I did while writing Shotgun Groom, Isaac’s Decision, To Have and To Hold, and Her Heart’s Desire.  I also had a contest with all the heroes from the Nebraska Series, and I ran into some issues when Dave Larson didn’t like what I was doing.  These were all just done for humor, and I thought someone might like to have the book on hand instead of going through my old blog posts to find them.

I currently have the release date set at April 3, but I’m going to move it up to sometime in March.  What I might do, if all goes according to plan, is have it up around March 1st so I can announce it while doing my newsletter post.  I’ll give more information in the next post.

This book is currently with my editor.  I will have it out some time in March.

I’m hoping I can get this out earlier than May 8, which is my current release date.  If all goes well, I can finish the first draft by the end of this month.  Then I can go through the initial edits and send it to my awesome editing team.  I’d love to have this one out in early April.  *fingers crossed*

Release date is currently set at May 8, but I’m hoping to have it out in April.

This one is at the 12,000-word mark, which is nearing the end of chapter 4.  So I still have a ways to go.  In this one, I’m going to feature a plain looking heroine.  Someone made a comment on my Facebook page about how there aren’t enough books featuring this type of heroine, and I figured I can easily make this heroine one since the plot doesn’t require her to be pretty.

Some of my plots require a beautiful heroine, such as the Book 3 (The Accidental Mail Order Bride) in this series.  Book 3 in the series will feature an unattractive hero, so it’ll be a “Beauty and the Beast” type of story.  I haven’t started writing Book 3 yet, but I do have a pre-order page up if you want to check it out.

The Mistaken Mail Order Bride is set for a June 5 release date.  The Accidental Mail Order Bride is set for a September 4 release date.

The Marriage Agreement is slowly coming along

(This is book 2 in the Pioneer Series)

I’m at the end of chapter 2 in this one.  I don’t know if this is one of those series that is hard to write, but the beginning of this book was a huge struggle.  I had to figure out a way to get the hero (Jesse Palmer) and heroine (Laura Rufus) to agree to a marriage of convenience.  I brainstormed and wrote out an original beginning I end up tossing.  Then it was back the drawing board.

Because of the difficulty I’m having with this series, I have pushed the expected release date of Book 3 (Groom for Hire, which is Joe Otto’s story) to either the spring or summer of next year.

Fortunately, I have until August 7 on The Marriage Agreement, so I see no reason why it won’t go out on that day, but the chance of me getting this one out sooner is about zero.  The other books are possible for an earlier release because they are coming along nicely.

So we’ll keep the expected release date of August 7 on this one firm.

Hope everyone has a great February!

This is an “extra” to the books I write.  I don’t expect many people to be interested in it since it’s not an actual book, but for those who’ve ever read and enjoyed the blog posts I’ve done with my characters, I thought this one would be a nice treat.  Dave Larson comes up quite a bit, and he’s one of my favorites–a favorite for a lot of you, too, from what you’ve told me. 🙂  So I thought I’d offer this for anyone who’s interested.  I’ll give more information about it as it gets closer to April 3.  April 3rd is when I’ll have it out.  I still need to do some tweaking after it comes back from the editor.

This book follows The Convenient Mail Order Bride and features a very sweet and lovable but clumsy heroine.  She’s also plain in appearance.  Worse, she didn’t realize she went on the wrong stagecoach and ended up in the Colorado Territory.  The hero was expecting another mail-order bride, but since she didn’t show up, and the heroine had a young child to care for, he marries her even though he’s not attracted to her.  As we know, though, since this is a romance, he grows to be attracted to her in the end.

I am now done with the first draft and should be finished with the second draft by the end of this weekend.  It’s due to go out to my editing team next week.  This was another fun one to write, and it went off in a direction I didn’t plan on when I started it.  Sometimes books are like that.  I go in thinking it’ll play out one way, and something happens where the characters decide to go in the other direction.  In this case, the heroine changed her mind on how to proceed halfway into the book, and everything went off tangent.  But…it was for the best.  I’m glad it turned out the way it did!

I also made a pre-order page for this one with characters chiming in on what they think of this book.  (This is just on iBooks, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo.)
